Perry Evans combines a dozen years in corporate management in the consumer telecom industry, with more than 20 years in new media startups. Since the early days of the Internet, Perry has led the formation and development of MapQuest, Jabber, Local Matters and Closely. A common thread of location-based technologies and products that disrupt and realign industry structures runs through these businesses.
His current company, Closely Inc., is the company behind the Perch mobile application for small business. The winner of #1 Mobile Business App at 2013 SXSW, Perch aggregates and organizes a dozen streams of real-time content published across Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, Instagram, Yelp, Google+, Godaddy, Constant Contact and hundreds of Promotion content sites. The app, downloaded by more than 20,000 businesses in 2013, is designed to help businesses watch their business neighborhood. Closely performs live analytics to deliver personalized Insights to the business owner to help them improve their digital marketing position.
Perry is a board member of the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at Colorado University in Boulder and is a past recipient of the Ernst and Young Software Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Residing in Colorado since 1989, he has strong ties to Silicon Valley and maintains professional affiliations with startup communities in Denver, Silicon Valley and Montreal.
